It’s well into January and everyone is now acquainted properly with 2014. The habitual date change is never an easy one, but there comes a time when one just has to move on from the past and leave the old year behind. To make this farewell a little sweeter, let’s take a glance at all the memories made in 2013.


January 14th: Lance Armstrong admits to an interview with Oprah Winfrey that he did dope using performance enhancing drugs during the Tour De France.


February 28th: Benedict XVI resigns as pope. He was the first to do so since 1415.


March 13th: Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio from Argentina was elected 266th pope.

April 15th: Two Islamist brothers bomb the Boston Marathon in Boston, Massachusetts.


June 15th: Kim Kardashian gives birth to child North West, father Kanye West.


June 26th: Supreme Court rules that the government must give gays the equality of same-sex spouses


July 13th: George Zimmerman was acquitted of all charges including second-degree murder and manslaughter against the victim Trayvon Martin.


July 22nd: Prince George of Cambridge was born by his royal parents Prince George and Catherine the Duchess of Cambridge.


August 25th: The “twerk heard around the world” was performed from Miley Cyrus on Robin Thicke at the Video Music Awards.


September 29th: Last episode of the beloved award-winning series Breaking Bad aired on AMC


October 1st: Obama launches an online exchange for people to sign up for the health insurance from the Affordable Healthcare Act. Later the government shutdown for 16 days.


October 8th: New $100 bills released with modern design and stronger counterfeit protection.

October 20th: Kelly Clarkson ties the knot with Brandon Blackstock.


November 8th: Typhoon kills more than 6,000 in the Philippines


November 22nd: Xbox One released to the general public.


December 5th: Nelson Mandela, the first president of South Africa, dies.

December 25th: The Wolf on Wall Street is released and sets a record of most “F” words said in a feature film. (569 times)
