E! has renewed Caitlyn Jenner's series I Am Cait for a second season. In its eight-episode first run this summer, the show followed his new life after transition and as she learned about transgender issues and committed to advocating for the trans community.
The docu-series premiered in July to 2.7 million viewers. However, despite the critical acclaim, the show failed to maintain the massive ratings that many experts assumed it would have throughout its first season. It returned its second week to an audience half that size. As the season progressed, the ratings continually declined and the season ended with just 1.3 million viewers. E! expected ratings to shoot through the roof as the show featured a member of the famous Kardashian family with appearances from Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney Kardashian, as well as Kylie and Kris Jenner.
