London, Mar 31 (ANI): Kim Kardashian has topped a poll of the most overexposed celebrities.

Analysis that evaluated stars' exposure according to 46 different factors saw the reality star place highest, with an overexposure percentage of 65 percent.

By contrast the average celebrity has an overexposure percentage of five percent, market research firm E-Poll found.

Lindsay Lohan and Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi took second and third places respectively, followed by Octomom, aka Nadya Suleman and Paris Hilton.

Rounding off the top ten were Kim's sisters Kourtney and Khloe, Snooki's Jersey Shore co-star Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino, Kate Gosselin and Bristol Palin's babydaddy Levi Johnston.

Most of the celebrities featured in the list made their names on reality television.

E-Poll CEO Gerry Philpott explained that, unlike more serious movie actors, a high level of exposure is key to a reality star's earning potential.

"A decade ago being overexposed was the kiss of death. But today it's necessary to fuel reality TV," the Daily Mail quoted him as telling Forbes.

"If you want to be a serious movie actress maybe you don't want high overexposed numbers, but if you're going to be a successful reality star, you need those numbers," he explained.

High media exposure proved effective for Kim Kardashian as last year fans' fascination with her engagement, marriage and relationship breakdown generated huge ratings for 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' and its spin-off, 'Kim 'n' Kourtney Take New York'.

The top 10 most overexposed celebrities:

Kim Kardashian – 65 percent

Lindsay Lohan – 64 percent

Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi – 64 percent

Nadya 'Octomom' Suleman – 62 percent

Paris Hilton – 60 percent

Kate Gosselin – 57 percent

Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino – 56 percent

Kourtney Kardashian – 53 percent
