Evelyn Lozada is becoming a businesswoman in her own right. She owns a boutique. She's an author. She sells her own T-shirts, and she's launched her own makeup line.
It's probably safe to assume that Evelyn looks up to moguls like Oprah Winfrey, Kandi Burruss and even "Basketball Wives" executive producer Shaunie O'Neal, but those aren't her only professional role models.
"I respect her as a businesswoman as she is very smart," Evelyn said in reference to fellow reality star Kim Kardashian.
Many criticize Kim, who first came to fame after partnering with Ray J in a sex tape, because her rise seemed to encourage young women to take shortcuts in life. Kim's romp with Ray J years ago has now helped foster a reality TV franchise, a fashion line at Sears, a fragrance and more for Kim.
"She went from doing one thing and then used that to just blow up her brand," Evelyn told RadarOnline.com. "If I can have a little bit of the success that she has had, I will be happy."
Evelyn, whose rise to fame is primarily due to her fiery personality that "BBW" fans either love or hate, didn't comment specifically on Kim's sex tape; but it's not a far stretch to imagine that Evelyn can relate to Kim.
Evelyn has also come under fire for being somewhat promiscuous on the VH1 hit show. After corresponding with now-fiancé Chad Ochocinco virtually, Evelyn didn't hesitate to sleep with him the first time she visited him. Even her co-stars have referred to her as "loose." However, Evelyn maintains that she doesn't do anything other women don't do. She's just more open about it.
That may be another similarity between her and Kim, and Evelyn doesn't mind people placing the two in the same category.
"Being compared to her is pretty cool. From a professional and a business stand point, it is a huge compliment," she said.
