As people speculate about what some Hollywood types are calling the Kanye West-Kim Kardashian "fling-ette," I've learned that Kardashian's stepfather Bruce Jenner isn't the only member of her family who is counseling her to "take it slow."

According to an expert on the clan, Kardashian's mom, Kris Jenner, and her sisters Khloe and Kourtney also think she needs to be careful about rushing into any romance. "They're just concerned," the source said, "about her catching so much flak about her 72-day marriage" to NBA player Kris Humphries.

An important note: All of the Kardashians are big Kanye fans, and their worries about Kim's supposed new romance "would apply to anyone she'd be dating now," added the source.

West is said to be truly smitten with Kardashian and, as has been reported, a longtime admirer. As for Kim, she is said to love being involved with a true star, "and not just another pro athlete," said my Kardashian insider Sunday.

That said, informal Tinseltown oddsmakers doubt the West-Kardashian hookup will last until Labor Day, "or even the Fourth of July," said one Hollywood wag.

CAN I HELP? According to one of Lindsay Lohan's best friends, the actress would be more than happy to chat with Amanda Bynes, hoping the young actress' recent DUI arrest and resulting intense media scrutiny won't mirror LiLo's own troubled years — which now, happily, appear to behind her.

According to my own L.A. paparazzi sources, Bynes will be in for continuing attention from the paps — especially as the former child star continues to party hearty in the days since she was pulled over for that alleged DUI.

TOUGH NEWS: Approximately three years after the death of Ryan O'Neal's ex-wife Farrah Fawcett from anal cancer, the actor's revelation of his stage four prostate cancer diagnosis understandably hit him and his loved ones very hard.

But O'Neal's positive attitude and yet another reconciliation with

Tatum O'Neal (estranged from her father since their ill-fated OWN reality show) reportedly is giving him a big boost.

SERIOUS ROMANCE: Even though Jennifer Lopez had repeatedly told estranged husband Marc Anthony there was no chance for a reconciliation, the singer kept thinking she'd soon tire of young lover Casper Smart and come running back to him.

"Marc just has had a very hard time accepting that Jennifer is out of his life, at least romantically. Of course, they will always be connected by both their children and their business interests," said a longtime J. Lo insider.

Apparently, Anthony finally did get the message — shown by his divorce filing last week.

STAR POWER: As usual, the savvy women at the Lynn Sage Cancer Research Foundation have landed a major star as keynote speaker for the group's annual fall luncheon. This year's headliner is Oscar winner

Diane Keaton, who will be the star attraction at the Oct. 17 fund-raiser at the Hilton Chicago. Other Lynn Sage speakers in recent years have included Rob Lowe, Goldie Hawn, Joan Rivers, Fran Drescher and Chicago's own Bonnie Hunt.

This year's fete will be co-chaired by Michelle Friedman, Andrea Gordon and Ashley Hemphill Netzky, and will add to the millions the foundation has raised in the fight to eradicate breast cancer — especially at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Northwestern University's Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center.

BOOK BEAT: Fans of Chad Michael Murray ("One Tree Hill") will want to know the actor will be signing his Everlast novel at the Barnes Noble at Old Orchard, beginning at 4 p.m. Monday.

RING! RING! Jeweler Robert Procop will not be making the same mistake the Damiani folks did a few years ago. Readers may remember when Brad Pitt sued to stop Damiani from producing an inexpensive replica of the rings Pitt helped design back when he was engaged and then married to Jennifer Aniston.

The Procop ring created (with Pitt's input) to note the engagement of the actor and longtime love Angelina Jolie will be one-of-a-kind.

SEEN ON THE SCENE: "30 Rock" star and iO Theater alum Jack McBrayer, joined by ex-iO mainstay Kevin Dorff, gave a surprise performance at the Wrigleyville theater last week. … While in town, McBrayer also was spied at Butch McGuire's on Division. … The Miami Heat's LeBron James was joined by ex-Bears safety Jim Cantelupe at RPM Italian, while James' Heat teammate — Chicago's own Dwyane Wade — dined at Paris Club, where actor Sean Astin hung out while here for the C2E2 confab.
