Lawyers for reality TV star Kim Kardashian’s estranged husband Kris Humphries want to interview her mother and current boyfriend, singer Kanye West, before setting a trial to end the couple’s 72-day marriage.
A judge said the legal manoeuvring means it is likely to be at least next year before the couple are granted a divorce or an annulment, as NBA player Humphries desires.
The pace drew derision from Kardashian’s lawyer, Laura Wasser, who told the judge during a hearing that her firm has already spent 250,000 dollars (£159,390) on the case.
Ms Wasser said she would be billing Humphries for the work.
Humphries’ lawyer, Marshall Waller, said he was encountering difficulty getting information from companies which produce Kardashian’s reality shows in his effort to prove the couple’s marriage was a fraud.
The couple’s divorce petition was filed in October.
